I have been voted the chairman of our local councils Recreation and Open Spaces Committee (includes allotments 
). My first meeting is tomorrow. It also coincides with a meeting of our District council.
I was advised to ring around the committee members to ensure they turn up, but they want to barrack our "unitary authority" who couldn't care a flying whatsit about our town.
I think my first chairman experience in over 20 years is going to be "unquorate".
I want to be at the DC meeting to barrack them as well. I was told a postponement wasn't on.
I'm really not happy: a) about being a chairman; b) about lack of people at my first committee.
