What's that stink?!

have spent the last 2 days trying to isolate a sour milk smell in the kitchen,scrubbed the floor,got in all the nooks & crannies of the kiddies bar stools~still the smell was there!!Was dreading but close to unscrewing the worktop in case milk had managed to get between it & the wall?!~Then I discovered "Speedy"!~or rather no longer Speedy but instead positively dead & rotten snail Ash had decided he'd like to keep!!(wasn't dead when he took it under his wing!)Stupid thing is despite all the nasty things I do to snails at the lottie I actually felt quite guilty that we'd made a poor little snail suffer(the feeling went fairly rapidly!).

You have my sympathy. A good few years ago I had the most awful smell in the kitchen. I had the cooker apart, the fridge and freezer in and out, the washing machine and dishwasher in and out. And everything else. The smell got worse by the day.
I was on the verge of having the floor boards up (and moving house) when I lifted the curtains on the french doors to wash the floor and PHEW!!!
I reckon milk from the cats plate had got spilt and soaked up by the curtain. Disgusting ! Embarrassed to admit.

i had a BBQ a couple of years ago, and we ran out of chops, so someone obviously defrosted some in the microwave, no problem ....... well it wouldn't have been a problem if they'd remembered to take the second lot out and cook them, about 4 days later i could smell something, i emptied the bin thinking it must be that, cleaned everywhere with bleach........ still this horrible smell, was ready for pulling all the cupboards out, couldn't work out where a dead body could be hiding........ then son decided to use the microwave for something ....... took me 3 days to completely remove the smell from the rancid pork chops in there...... though i did find out flies can't get into microwaves

It's worse when you have that smell in your car (you can't escape!!), then discover the remnants of an orange/biscuit/worse under the seat (my care gets cleaned once a year!).
