  • What Happens at 10 past Midnight?

I know we've had threads about the 'Vine being on a 'Go-Slow' before, but I've noticed recently that every night at exactly 00:10, the forum almost comes to a halt, until about 00:30. I find there's very little point in clicking on anything, because nowt much happens! I've checked all of our running programs -Spyware, Firewall, Virus Protection etc, and none of it is updating/scanning. Automatic Updates for Windows is turned off, so it can't be that either. SO is it the 'Vine? Is that the time it updates or something?
Maybe someone is trying to tell me to go to bed....

I think it's the time that the Vine backs it's self up . It used to happen earlier (around 8 in the evening) and lots of people complained so I think Ben ,Dave , whoever have probably moved the backup time to 00.10 as there are less people about.
I'm sure someone will come along and explain it more clearly than me soon.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

I noticed that too. I thought it was some kind of time out. Didn't know it came back on. Most annoying when halfway through a post but it does make me go to bed. The vine is quite addictive in the nicest possible way

A bit off topic but somehow 'ten past midnight' triggered a lost memory....

Kids TV program, late 70's, something to do with a grandfather clock and 13 mins past midnight or something... when strange stuff happens ??????

          Any ideas ?

Did jamie and the Magic Torch have a Granfather clock in it?

I know Count Duckula had the magic grandfather clock, but that was 80's, not 70's

                            How odd

I thought this was some distant childhood memory but then I found this... (thanx Lynda !)

TOM'S MIDNIGHT GARDEN | A TELEVISION HEAVEN REVIEW

                            The Beeb did 3 versions, 1968, 1974 and 1989.

I was only 4 in 1974, so can only conclude that I watched it as as a 19 year old student

I remember it being a rather profound and moving story... Can anyone smell burning herbs
