  • What would you do with a lottery win?

When I win the lottery (would help if I played though!) I will.....

Set up my own craft shop

Pay for a full time cleaner, cook, housekeeper and PA

Pay for a part time gardener so I just do the bits I enjoy most

    Buy a new car

Go on a holiday abroad - a touring type cruise would be fab

Pay for some private health checks to be done - find out why I am miscarrying and then carry a child full term

Convert our spare room into a dual purpose craft workshop or build one down bottom of garden

Pay a solicitor to change the deeds on our house so we can keep chooks

Buy a lifetime supply of gas and elec so Oliver will let me turn on the lights etc

Pay for a tutor to teach the kids a second and maybe third language as I was rubbish at french

Have a huge party for all our friends and family (and grapes)
    Tammy x x x x
Fine and Dandy but busy as always

God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done

Stay at home Mum (and proud of it) to Bluebelle(8), Bashfull Bill(6) and twincesses Pea & Pod (2)!!!!

Dependant on how much I won.

    Get rid of the mortgage.

Retire ( I am really tired of the rat race)

Buy a house for the eldest & set up a trust fund for the youngest.

Get a Landie (so I can get things to the plots in the winter)

Start a charitable trust for youth projects.

All the above are as the prize level increased.
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.

Pay off all the loans and mortgages
buy a plot somewhere nice and build my dream house
Buy my OH the car he would love (classic Morgan)
buy myself the car I want (don't know exactly what yet)
give some to all my favourite charities
      give some to my family.
Invest the rest for an income to live on (maybe in a business??)
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

i'd buy a farm, and turn it into a rescue centre for animals, grow my own veg, and become as completely self sufficient as possible, and definitely find space for a couple of elephants ..... either that, or i'd set up an orphaned baby elephant sanctuary somewhere, and leave the uk far behind

It would help if we played more than occasionally!!
            For a jackpot:
            Pay all debts etc.
Take the kids on a fab holiday.
Set up trust funds for the kids, nieces and nephews.
Help out any family that needed it, ie.clearing mortgages type of thing
Buy enough land to build a house, grow veg and keep animals.
He would build himself a koi pond or three.
Invest the change (if we had any!) wisely so that it would help us live the lifestyle we've always wanted, which is livivng on our own little smallholding without the bother of leaving it to go out to work.

For a small win, like a tenner we would have chippy for tea so I can have a night off from cooking!

Deffinatly pay off the mortgage leave work but I wouldnt let OH retire dont want him under my feet all day !!! Buy myself a decent car, go on holiday maybe buy something abroad as well.
If enough would buy all my kids a house none of them can get a mortgage, plus buy me a huge house with humongus garden, keep present house for daughter and rent it out put that money in bank for her till she is 18.
Then help sister and nieces and nephews.
              Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
              and ends with backache

Assuming I won enough to do anything I wanted:

Buy a smallholding and grow lots of veg, fruit and probably have livestock as well (and a wood for our own fuel). And lots of outbuildings for storage.

I'd be really torn between giving up work and keeping going, as I love my job, but I might try to go part time.

Get an old-fashioned (but working well workhorse kinda job) Landrover for hauling stuff, including a tow hitch and a trailer.

Get a nice small car for me - possibly with a reclining roof - maybe a Mini or an Audi. Also buy OH a nice car for himself - quite possibly a nice Beemer or Merc (I like the 5 series or the SLK).

Build a really nice, light, airy house, which is very well insulated, has plenty of solar and other renewable energy sources, and has loads of space. It will have enough room to have a piano and a couple of guitars in a music room/library (which will also have a ladder to reach the high up books), a decent stereo system, a large, very functional kitchen, at least one large chest freezer for gluts, preferably a cellar for storing bulk goods and gluts that I have jarred (like jams, tomato sauces...), a practical office for doing general paperwork and possibly also real work at home on occasion (and future studies as I reckon I may do more yet, as may OH - and the toddler will need to do some too ), a laptop or pc in the living space so that I can go on to interwebby/email while doing everyday stuff, another room for putting my sewing machine (and various crafts stashes like wool, fabric, kiddie crafts) and being able to spread out and do projects in it without clearing them up for dinner every day, a comfortable area to sit and relax, a big dining space for lots of gatherings of friends, great views, lots of wood and stone, and glass, .....(I think I watch too much "Grand Designs").

I'd also want to ensure that we were secure for the future - that while we'd try to be self-sufficient, we wouldn't need to be on the bread line and could have a few luxuries if we wanted them.

And as well as ensuring our future security, I'd also want to make sure that our families were ok, have what they need, hopefully be able to step back from the rat race to give them time as much as money.

I think I'd also want to make some time to give in a practical way to some projects in the developing world - there are some areas that really need help and I'd love to be able to help either in a hands on way in person on site, or a step removed in trying to influence various issues or making policy/economic type changes/arguments at a higher level. As well as giving money to many who can make real changes on the ground - and that would be for projects both in the developing world and closer to home.

(A chance to move to somewhere like France would also be very appealing - that's one of our long term (im)possible dreams all the time - maybe I'll get a little cottage there with a potager garden and ask TonyF for his advice and help).

My Uncle had a particularly bad lorry accident & it was the Air Ambulance folk that were with him for the best part of a day~trying to cut him free, but also holding his hand trying to get him through mentally.I didn't realise until that day that their work is voluntary & dependant on charity.

Become an obscenely rich reclusive, with a mad eccentricity akin to Hector from Monarch of the Glen.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
