  • Favourite weather forecaster

Was watching the BBC weather last night and thought to myself, you know what, this dude is my favourite weather forecaster of all time.

    Who?

    Daniel Corbett.

The most animated, enthusiastic and infectious weather forecaster I've ever seen. He could tell me it's going to be bucketing down with force 10 gales, with fire and brimstone for the next 6 months and I'd feel happy about it.

If you've never seen him, just look him up on Youtube.

    Who's yours?

A close second would be Becky Mantin, but that's for totally different reasons...

I like Daniel, and Carol from BBC breakfast.
Tomasz is good too, it's just that whenever he's on it rains!
Our local one is David Braine.

My Grandad's favourite over here is one of the original Met Eireann staff (not the "weather presenters" that have started to be used in recent years - equivalent of your Met Office) - called Evelyn Cusack. Cos no matter WHAT her forecast is, she always SMILES while giving it so he doesn't care if it is going to rain down, she has maded him feel good. (And I had never noticed why I tended to prefer watching her forecasts until he pointed this out to me and I realised that she made ME feel better too).

I used to love watching Michael Fish, when I did see him. There's another female in the UK, who does BBC in the mornings, and is very bubbly - even if she is presenting in the outdoors in the middle of a snowstorm (and I have seen that too!!). I just can't think of her name, but I reckon she is a tiny little thing.

The dude that used to be in Eastenders - now presents on BBC Midlands TV. Des I think his name is. [ETA - yes, Des Coleman]

Knows absolutely now't about weather - can't present to save his life - always gets it wrong but damn he looks good in his snappy suits.

Ooh, I can't hack Carol - it's that breathing in thing she does that gets me.

I'm with HW. Like Dan Corbett very much, also Darren Bretts. I turn off when Carol is on in the morning, just can't stand her gushing and just something about her. Claire on GMTV used to have the same affect on me, something to do with how she breathed too. Becki Mantin is of course gorgeous, she used to do the local weather here in the East and I read an interview with her in the local paper and liked her because she likes to make her own cushion covers. so there you go!

Well I like Charlie on Central. She always (well it seems like it) gives the sort of forecast that I'm wanting, and even when it's going to be bad, she seems as if she's apologising

                          Our cat!

Seriously - if it's going to rain she sits at the door and howls. If it's windy she races round like a headless chicken chasing her tail...

On the human side - Daniel Corbett is good - even better on the radio when he really goes overboard on the descriptions. When I first saw him I thought he was Gary Rhodes' brother - is it just me, or can anyone else see it? Probably just me...
