I would pick everything and keep it for myself, if she say's anything just say well you weren't there when it was ready for picking and I didnt want it to go to waste. You could ask her if she wants to stop doing it as she doesnt seem to have the time and that it would be alright if she did. She might not know how to tell you she doesnt want to carry on.
Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
and ends with backache

I'm with Jackie here on both points. I would be seriously tempted to harvest all and keep it but I would have a huge guilt complex. But maybe she doesn't know how to say she can't carry on. Tough one that.
Hard one isn't it. I couldn't take all the harvest either, even though I've dne all of the work.
I did 11 hours in in yesterday and 7 hours the day before and it's looking amazing now. I'm going to do a couple more hours today and that should be it finished, it'll then just be a case of keeping it weed free and tidy.
Originally we spoke about trying to get an allotment but the nearest ones are about 12 miles away and non available, hence the reason I made the neighbour the offer of taking over half of her overrun garden.
My friend is supposed to be coming over this afternoon to help. It's not that she's too busy to do it, just her partying that gets a little out of hand so she doesn't come over - she's hung over, too tired after a night out, met some bloke, has visitors, etc, etc. By the time she comes over this afternoon (if she does) the garden will be finished and there will be nothing to do. I'll take it from there and see what happens. One thing for sure, I'll never share a garden/plot again, jeez.
Yes, she turned up, did a bit of work then told me she'd be away next week. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGH!
After I dropped my spade on my bare big toe (see other thread) I vented a little and told her I was fed up doing it all by myself and that I loads of other stuff to take care of and was fed up of getting dumped on. She took it well and told me that she'd try and come over next week as well as to get a chap she knows to come in and cut back the trees that are too high for us to do.
Fortunately my Mum saw the funny side when my Dad, who had passed away the year before, received a letter from a pyschic offerng to get in touch with people who had 'passed over'. Obviously not in touch with the right spirits, was she?
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Had a cuppa with my elderly neighbour in her sunhouse today. I've taken over her garden and planted spuds right at the bottom which, strangely, has never had anything planted in it and needed a lot of digging over.
She was petting my dogs and went on to tell me about the poodle that she and her late husband used to have that they buried in the bottom of the garden.
Better not mention any bones you come across then! I've sometimes wondered about our old garden, and the pet guinea pigs that were laid to rest there. We did plant flowers on them, but that's not guarentee they wouldn't be dug up.
My brother did dig up one of my Mum's dogs when he was burying another one time. She had forgot he was there. They've lived in the same house since 1945, and always had pet dogs, which went into the garden at the end!
