Agree with the comment and understand your sentiments Cloud, but it is made in Oxford in the UK, in a factory that employs mainly brits, so has to be better than it being made overseas! It would be better if it was all British, as was the original, but the sad state of affairs is that without the BMW imput it probably wouldnt have happened at all, yes Rover were into the design stages, but whether it woulkd ever have come to fruition, or be made in such a well made manner is another thing! They aren't cheap cars, a big change from the original Mini and a big risk IMHO (producing it as a premium car rather than a cheaper car for the masses) but they've captured the quirky spirit, the fun and cuteness of the original and packaged it in a modern reliable and comfortable new car, surely it's success can only be a good thing!
As Shirl's youngest son has found out, the new MINI is fun and comfy to travel in and does have the spirit of the original, but with all the mod cons! For me I'd love an original Mini, but with having to commute an hour each way a day I need something thats comfy and reliable, something an older Mini wouldbe hard pressed to do nowadays!Blessings

Yes but they are not built here merely put together.
The chasis and body are built in Germany and the engine is built in France then put together over here using cheap labour! The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.
