  • Abbrev. Abreviatons. Abbreviat. Doh! Short for....

    Hi all, hope you're not too wet unlike here

    Is it only me who can't understand the bits of shorthand which appear in threads?;

    LOL [Lots of love? lots of luck?]

    OH [Other Half, I think?]

    KK

    & lots more, What do they all mean

  • #2
    My MIL gets herself in all sorts of trouble with her LOL's. She gets all confused about 'Laughing out Loud' and 'Lots of Love'.

    My OH's teenage daughter's Bebo page reads like Double Dutch to me.

                Oh, sorry KK means Klever Keith. This is my Other Half (Scared55) and it is a name that Wellie and Hazel gave him 'cause his name is Keith and he is Klever
                I know what you mean though - I still don't understand everything.

                    a lot of us here are a bit on the 'of a certain age' as the French say...simplicity is the key if you want us to reply!!!!

                        I can understand abbreviating for text messages for mobile phone calls, but why the need to do it on the internet when you can type as much as you like and it won't cost per letter?

                          Hope Snadger answered your question Minskey. But I just like things in English.

                          From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
