    What do I do.....

Spider walking across the top of my comp screen (it's there as I type)

It's really cute, keeps waving arms/legs about. It's my friend now but.....

Will it find any food here in reception or should I put it out saying goodbye to my only company in a lonely job?

Spider was here with me all of yesterday.

I need to get out more don't I

Thing is I never know if I am doing the right thing when I 'rescue' the likes of spiders, worms, beetles etc.

This is my dilemma - advice please!

Put him/her in an envelope and send him/her round to my house. There's loads of chuffin flies at the minute and my fly swat is working overtime! They'll be well fed, promise.

Could you try catching it some flies?!
When D was little we were adopted by one of those little stripey/pretty spiders~it lived on her pushchair for over a week!bus journeys, trips to the park & shops~sometimes coming out to play on our hands but then going back to it's home in the shopping tray!!~oh how I miss that spider!!
I also once had a lttle moneymaker spin a web from my thumb to my finger~must admit it got a bit boring sat in same position for so long but I felt really guilty when I finally had to!!
      Enjoy your new friend!!

We ( well- I should honestly say...my OH) 'rescued' one of these.....

                ...from our bedroom in France

( actually...it wasn't that much smaller than those photos!!!!!!)

It was a good 3" across with a body more than an inch long an a cm wide.

It's the first time I've ever felt uneasy near a spider, but it moved so fast too whilst avoiding capture.

No , it wasn't killed but this European house spider now lives in the garden and not in the house ( perhaps it's spiders and not mice in our wall insulation munching through the woodwork?????)

Could you borrow a neighbour's cat and see if it'll eat them??

We used to have a cat who munched through spiders and bluebottles ( euhhhhh...I can hear the blubottles buzz and crunch in my mind!!!!!!)

Same reason we have an eye for each leg I guess...
