Stafford's E.S.C.A.P.E. (Exeter Street Community Allotments Project for the Environment) project is having an Open Day on Thursday 14th at the allotments. Free barbecue, refreshments etc. Don't know who's funding it, but I'll be there to help out and show off me chooks And show off the Lollo Rosso, Peas & Beans that I've managed to grow in about 2 months. Hopefully there'll be some interest in the Community Gardens that they're hoping to start off too

Well not that it's anything specifically to do with National Allotment Wotsit, but here in The Royal Forest of Dean I can definitely report that peeps are getting out of their prams and demanding the right to actually HAVE allotments at all. And from the tone of the article, I'd say there's serious things about to happen.
And all credit to them.
I shall be supporting this voice in my own unique way in a week or two, which I shall happily reveal on our 'Home Page' when appropriate, and I hope that my words will inspire others too.
Well done Uncle Mikeywills for bringing the need for Allotments up! say The Flobalobs, who are indeed Pregnant as well, just like Heywayne?(!) but shoosh - our secret? X

our allotment is having an open day on the 16th to celebrate it, we are having a bbq, some veg competitions a scarecrow competion and a guy from the council coming to demonstrate composting. thats the reason i was asking for quiz questions as thats my contribution. unfortunatley the old boys didnt see the need to start planning in april back at the agm so it has all been thrown together in the last 6 weeks but fingers crossed it s a good day. after that i am then going to say goodbye to one of my closest friends who is selfishly moving to new zealand to it will be emotional

I was just watching the Andrew Marr program on London from Above and the skylines pre where there was open land was literally all dedicated to allotments, rows upon rows of allotments. Now all designer apartments no doubt. No wonder the land we live in keeps flooding and there is a food crises.
No news on allotment week here in Twickers, they are all full so guess they have nothing to promote. Shame.I'm new to veggies, but trying !

I feel a bit guilty as our lottie's having an open day(sort of!?)on Sunday & we'll be camping! Our lottie neighbour that's looking after the chooks has said he'll pick some courgettes for us to enter the comp but feel a bit sad we'll miss it!!~group gatherings at our lottie are always worth a giggle!!& they say it's women that gossip!!the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx
