  • small pictures/posters???

Can anyone help me out please???

We are decorating the whole of the inside of our house and I'm wanting to replace some of the pictures which are framed and are now faded.
The problem is I bought the originals from what I think was called 'The Art Shop' ( or something similar!) and the chain has now closed down.
The pictures are about 6" x 8" and I want to reuse the frames.

I'd rather see them and buy, rather than shop on-line, but I'm open to all suggestions.

    HELP!!!!!!!

Not sure if they will have what you are looking for but Ikea might be worth a try? I know they have frames its just whether they will be the right ones!

Yep - that's the sort of thing I'm looking for - but they're not the right size!
I'm ok for the frames- I just need to go somewhere with loads more pictures to choose from!

      Thanks for that suggestion though!

Treat yourself to a photo inkjet printer (they're not that pricey) and some glossy photo paper....then get out there with your camera!

Yes, I would print my own photos, like SBP suggests.
You can do "art" style photo-shopping on my computer, turn a print into a line drawing or an oil painting.
You could also send your digital photos off to a printer who will turn them into a canvas for you, if you didn't want to re-use your old frames.

What sort of images are you looking for? Do you have a particular theme in mind?

Well..we have an Epsom Stylus photo RX500...so it should print out decent photos...so long as someone gets round to taking them!!!

Problem is that I like a colour co-ordination of sunset yellows/oranges/reds/pinks/rich cream/terracotta - the picture isn't too important so long as it's fairly rural and calm- nothing modern!

The pictures I'm replacing are African sunset scenes of elephants and water collection- but that's not important.
The one that hasn't faded is of spring flowers.

Frustrating- as I don't have the time to wander around!...and I don't really want to pay much for the bedroom.

Have a look at some of the stock photo sites, such as Featurepix (Instructions), where you can obtain copies of the piccies for about $1, then print them and frame them. A good way to find some piccies you like and that arent too expensive! I'm actually registered as a 'tog with them, so they've a few of the piccies I've taken amongst their images!

I have a few pics of wild flowers in my profile album that you are welcome to use. Actually, I have loads more but these are the ones I like best. I have them in a bigger resolution, if you want anything PM me and I will have a look.

very good. Even thought I've bought on line, I've been very pleased with everything I've got.

                    Good luck!

                        Gosh! Thanks for your replies

Jackie and Scarey- thanks...will let you know!!!

Jennie and Mrs D .......I've spent a couple of hours looking through those and still not seen them all!!!!!!!! Fantastic sites - will take another look- will certainly bookmark them.
Initial thoughts are that they are still a bit too large for the mounted frames- but I may well have to change the frames as some of those posters/photos are lovely. ( better get back to painting before the OH notices I've stopped!!!!!)
