  • Laminate flooring!

We've had laminate flooring in the passage for yonks and its served it's purpose.
I've got a week off work so the missus says can you laminate the kitchen?

I suppose so ses I, thinking I'll get it finished quick and spend a week at the lottie!

Two days later.........floor half layed and I'm really p*ssed off with it! Grrrrr!

So much so that after being 'on the wagon' for a month I have decided to tip half a bottle of Gin (that my daughter brought me back from foreign climes) into a glass with a teeny amount of orange................ I know this is a tarts drink, but it's all I had!

    Sodding laminate!

PS Chucked an effervecent multivitiman tablet in to spice it up but that made it worse!

i spent a whole week just before christmas putting laminate flooring in our front room, hallway and kitchen so I know what you are going through, the worst thing about it was that I suggested we did the kitchen whilst I was in the mood.

at least once its done thats your lot for a while

The worst part is moving the cooker, dryer, washer and fridge freezer out of the way whilst they are still connected and working arouind them!

Then I move them back into place and the laminate moves with them!

          As I've mentioned before.........sodding laminate!

You have my sympathy Snadger. Having moved house it's just one job after another to get the place ship shape.
But there are jobs where it's easier to get the professionals in - all you have to do is take a big breath, a wallop of the mixture, and write the checque. Well that's the way I'm looking at it.

OH put laminate in our breakfast room yonks ago and at the time we bought enough to do the hall as well, needless to say its still in the boxes, the other will be faded by the time it's laid.

Probably a bit late to tell you this, but I used the "click and lock" stuff in our kitchen. For a rank amateur like me it was a relative breeze. The tricky bit was slotting it under the legs of the cabinets - involved several choice words and a couple of hissy fits.

We put in the click-clack stuff (bamboo, nice) but it still took ages, mainly because Doofus bought the wrong saw, so when we went to cut it to fit, all the bits split instead of cutting nicely.

Looked nice when it was finally done (3 days)
