Went out to walk the dog at 06:30 and about 200yds away turned up an alley where I saw what I thought was rubbish dumped behind the bushes.
When I looked, there was a pile of big bags, cases of cans of drinks, two vacuum cleaners, an expensive crash helmet. I also saw a torch and knife.
This looked like the result of a burgarlry, so I walked the dog home and rang the police.
Left the house at 08:00 to go to work and found the neighbours out and the police in attendance.
Turns out they had broke into 6 (latest count) garages in my end of the lane and stolen mainly groceries!
One house had just topped off their freezer and had the whole lot taken.
Now it used to be that they would break into a house and nick a stereo which they would maybe sell on for a fiver or so but of course the food etc now has a greater value than your DVDs (they ignored them in the house opposite)
Moves on from nicking the produce off allotments doesn't it!
