  • Woo Hoo Kids are back today!

No idea when as Mother-in-law doesnt like to be tied down to a time but it should be around miday as they want me to cook them a meal for then before they drive back home again!

Thats the good news (got loads done so am well rested and happy!) but they keep saying they are looking forward to the evidence of how much we have got done. Well I think I am ready for opertaion inspection. Living room is immaculate (in fact it doesnt even look like my house - kids are going to think someone else lives here now - hmm wonder how long it will take Daniel to trash it - lol!!!), bathroom is very much work in progress as is the garage but progress can be seen to have been made. The spare room is looking much better, having unpacked 10 more boxes and chucked all those 20 years worth of computer magazines! BUT my "darling" husband forgot to take the old matress downstairs and over to our neighbours driveway (ready for council to collect for free) this morning and its brightblueness is a right eyesore and totally detracts from my efforts. Oh well he is going to have to take it down the dump himself now - that will teach him! LOL!!!

FD, I really don't know how you cope with your in-laws. I thought mine were bad enough, but I'd have been locked-up by now if I'd had yours.....there's far too many sharp implements within easy reach here. You're a saint. Enjoy having your kids back. And if they make a mess, so what? It's what kids do. I'd rather be surrounded by a loving, messy family than have a sterile show home any day.

Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

My grandmother's philosophy on housework was that a home should be clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy! I'm sure it's not original but I always thought it was spot on! Hope you're having a lovely evening with them back at home.
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

my kids go away for the first time ever to mother in laws this wednesday and I have mixed feelings about it, the little one has never been parted from me for more than 2 days when I take school trips away. I won't miss the mess they make or the constant demands, their friends calling round needing feeding, arguing about bathtime, bedtime etc etc actually the more I think about the better it gets. I could finish a painting, decorate, garden, relax, go out with friends, horse ride as long as i want, watch what i want on tv......................................................
