This is why I call the kids "young female family unit" or "young male offspring", they don't seem to object.

When OH speaks about them by their "names" I can follow who she is on about but I constantly forget people's names, could be down to the short term memory loss I suffer from of course.

I was "Jo" for years as far as Andi's dad was concerned~never really let it bother me~years later & I'm convinced it was an "intentional"mistake!!Never mind...his mum likes me!!(I think!)

my mum always used to get our names mixed up and would shout Judy Elaine Simon whichever one i want get here now .....needless to say none of us did...she still mixes our names up now & we're all in our 40's and live on different continents

My MIL never remembers anyones name, to be honest its very funny. I do draw the line at being called dai (the dog), I don't even look like a jack russell.

I grew up with 4 name (I have 3 older sisters, and we all got called by each other's names on a semi-regular basis). It probably wouldn't matter much calling her by the name of 'previous', until the bloke does what they always do, and points out just WHO you used to know by that name...... You can simply claim to be 'bad at names', but you can bet he will give away WHY it matters on this occasion (very few men are capable of keeping quiet in such circumstances).

My Mum regularly works though the members of the family until she gets to my name I dont mind to much and sometimes when feeling naughty I add to the names list just to help her of course! - but have to say I object to being called ROGER! (he is my cousin)
