Hello all. Just got back after spending a month in the Republic of Ireland.
Lottie was looking like a jungle but a few days work has got it looking something like again. Have been on lottie again today but what a shock (hint of irony) it's raining AGAIN.
Had a crap time before we went away. Molly one of my Basset Hounds was diagnosed with cancer and had to be put to sleep. She had been vomiting regularly for several weeks and it took all sorts of tests to find out what the problem was. In all other respects she seemed very healthy and so it came as a complete shock, especially in view of her age, she was less than four years old.
I am 46 years old and in the past have broken my arms, wrist, fingers, toes, ribs, neck and spine. Never once did I squeal or cry. But, on hearing the news about Molly I wept like a baby. I do not work and so the dogs are my constant companions. If when I go out they can come with me, then they do. Losing Molly has been a terrible experience.
Looking to the future. Next Tuesday we are going to look at some Basset Hound puppies. At the moment they are about four weeks old and so if all goes to plan, in about four weeks time there should be a new puppy here in Edingley. A name has already been chosen, she will be called Phoebe.
