When my mum and dad had a cafe in the late 1950's we had a juke box I was five years old, a lot of bus drivers and conductors used to come in during their break ( dad was a conductor as well ) most would ask me what record to put on and it was always ' she wore a yellow polka dot bikini ' I think I wore that record out.
Glad it all went well hop you get lots of bookings.

Thank you sooooo much for the good wishes guys an' gals. It was a brilliant bash. The Wurlitzer and the Seeburg were turned up to full volume and the plaster was being shaken from the walls!!

The groom staggered up to me at about 5pm and asked, "Mart, do these things go any louder?" To which I replied, "How loud d'ja wannem to go mate?"... "Full" so it was done!

The Wurli gave a few probs, so I pulled a tube out and the volume returned. No records broken Wayne! Just eardrums.

So the young 'uns can keep their iPods - just get a 50's jukebox with valves an' vinyl!

Again folks, thanks for the good will - it was appreciated. And a big thank you to Shirls. If it wasn't for her the Seeburg would still be looking like scrap. But now it bombs out rock 'n' roll loud 'n' proud. It is good to have a spouse who believes in you!

So thank you Shirls for helping me and believing in me and my rebuilding/restoration abilities.

              Congrats!

              There's something about a jukebox.....

And a heaven in a wild flower

Aye, not sure if it is the 'dropping the coin in the slot' bit or just the doggone noise level

The black truck is a chopped '49 Chevy flatbed with a 5.6 litre V8... Homer style drool here. And the blue car is a '57 Chevy Bel Air. Yet another drool... But Sean's '59 Cadillac de Ville is the creme de la creme! Fins 'n' all! 7.2 litres of V8 Detroit heaven!

Wonderful creations from another bygone era. All to be legislated off the road soon.
