  • What makes you cry?

    Not talking about fighting with your kids/OH, etc, but silly stuff. I'll start off:

    Little House on the Prairie still makes me cry.

    Sooty and Sweep - when they used to say goodbye at the end
    Steptoe - Dad made me scared
    Dr Who - I was scared of the Daleks

    What about you?

            Toooo much!!
            Births,weddings,funerals~all 3 doesn't matter if i know the peeps or not!!
            Films~biggest weepy was a film called "The Cure"~about a boy with AID's & he & his mate set off to find a cure!Stand By Me comes a close 2nd!especially after River Pheonix died.
            Music~Tom Waits Closing Time album being the biggest culprit!
            Books~I sobbed reading The Horse Whisperer but it was an emotional time anyway!(thought the film was rubbish)
            Caught on a bad day could even muster a tear at the end of the before/after reality programmes!!
            I'll end there as pooter runs the risk of blowing up if i get it too wet!!

                Before I had Stacey only the big things. Since having her, lots of things sad films, sad scenes in the soaps, animal programmes etc etc.
                Stacey is as bad, when she was younger she cried at stuart little 2 when the wee bird left, Andre the sealion, she cried at the end of this and I couldn't work out why as its a happy ending turned out she was sad about the bit where he gets hurt about half way through the film and when she saw a performance of charlottes web at school her friends and her teacher were really concerned about her she was only about 7 at the time

                  I too have become much more soggy since having baby girl. I'll go with the original post and leave out the heavy sad/stuff, so my silly ones are;

                  The end of Wuthering Heights with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon;

                  The duet from The Pearl Fishers

                  My DH playing flamenco guitar in the garden on a sunny day (not because he's cr*p...the opposite!)

                  Sp*ders. Don't even like saying the word. *shudders*

                  My DH once admitted crying "a bit" at an episode of the Fresh Prince. Will had just met his dad and it was a real tearjerker. Apparently.
                  I don't roll on Shabbos

                        since having my girl(not the boy) life has got squishy and weepy - even animal hospital makes me cry when she is snuggled into me. lord of the Rings made me cry last night - must be something wrong with me.

                            Well I'm proud of myself this arvo!My girls got to have a minor op(nothing serious)& she had her tour & vid to "prepare"her!She sobbed that she doesn't want to do it & hugging her I could feel the fountain waiting to explode but I managed to keep it contained & actually reassured her it would be fine & even had her giggling before we left!Now I've just got to convince myself!!It was the part in the video where they're "asleep" & mummy has to leave them~I know I have to be strong for her but come that moment for real I know I'll be a wreck!!Think of me next thurs!
