No, no trip to the garden centre.

However Male offspring was off to GF's as it was her birthday, Female Offspring went off to hang out with her mates and do a bit of shopping.

I did pop down to the allotments to get some veg for dinner, so we spent the majority of the day without being Mum or Dad.

People at work had bought me some nice wine and port for my birthday, so we had a very pleasant day together being able to talk about things we wanted rather than boys or gadgets.

As for a card or gift for me, well doesn't matter really does it.
