well, not swap, as I didn't want anything in return. I just asked for an SAE to cover my postage costs. I love giving away my nurtured, pampered seeds, but am on a budget; can't afford £10 in stamps every week.

I have recently given away lots of seed, after having sworn to give it up due to timewasters & hassle last year.

I usually receive an SAE, with no name, no indication of what seed is requested, no note, no thanks, no nothing.

What joy it was, to receive an SAE, properly stamped (with a Large Letter stamp, cos the Post Office are fussy these days), with a handwritten card, a name, a list of wanted seeds ... and a thank you!

Wonderful. I only hope they're happy with their Two-Sheds seeds.

I won't embarrass the Grape by naming them ... oh yes I will, it was Marigold007. (must be a Virgo, so organised).

I still need to send out seeds to some grapes - sorry folks, been crazy in our house lately with illness and all. I have finally remembered to buy the stamps and envelopes, I have found the seeds in the seed box and I have the addresses on the envelopes all ready. However, Madmax has tidied away my little plastic seed packets which I put the seeds into for posting. Looks like I am going to have to buy more from ebay before I finally get those sorted out

I cannot take the credit for the "thank you" idea although I am very thankful. jnkimjones wrote me a lovely "thank you" earlier in the week so I was "paying it forward".

A thankyou/acknowlegement is never over the top - just shows good breeding and manners - it is the minimum we should all do if we want to get swapsies in the future. Also an indication of which ones you're after is certainly a help as so many generous folk here have many varieties on offer at the same time - I usually indicate on the SAE if the send is one-way - just in case my note gets detached.

I don't think it's rude to send no note, don't get me wrong; I really meant that it's very confusing when I receive a dozen envelopes, none of which indicate what seeds they are after

I love sending out seeds, especially ones I have saved myself, and shall continue doing so

I love receiving little notelet cards. My neighbour always uses them even for random messages. I use them myself, now. It's more personal than a bit of scrawl on scrap paper, which I used to do! I do recycle them as gift-tags, so I'm still re-using 'scrap'!
