I left the gibblets (and their plastic bag) inside the first Christmas turkey I ever cooked.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

I have been reminded by some of these of the adventure one of my nephews had when he was about 13, and allowed to go (with a few mates, some of them older) to camp beside the river and fish by torchlight. They decided they would eat baked beans, and heat them over the fire. None of them realised that the can should be opened (or at least punctured) before heating, and to add to the fun, they placed it on a piece of plank over the flames.
I leave the rest to the collective imagination......
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

I'm really really sorry - we're washing our hair that night?

              1) Sitting round the kitchen table when a young child - mum picks up ketchup and gives it an extremely vigorous shake without realising the lid was not screwed on
              2) Brother picking up brand new big Bovril out of the cupboard not quite grasping it - does that slow motion thing of snatching at it - net result, ends up hurling it across the room with some force where it shatters against the skirting board and carpet
              3) Brother in law spends most of the day gently simmering up turkey carcass with various veg in order to make Christmas soup and carefully strains the whole lot.....straight down the sink... thus left with a sieve of turkey bones, limp vegetables and a sense of bewilderment
              4) I spend most of the day gently simmering up turkey carcass with various veg in order to make Christmas soup. Have a bath and smell cooking turkey - at the point at which you can smell your cooking, it will be burnt, and - boy - wasn't it just.......
