New babies are a great way for familys to keep in touch. My OH and his brother dont get on and havent spoken to each other for years but OH's niece had a prem baby and the christening is in a couple of weeks and although we didnt go to her first baby's christening ( only our daughter was invited and went with grandparents ) we have been invited to this one, it will be interesting to say the least.
We were not invited to brothers 2nd wedding even though it was on in laws golden anniversary so we couldnt celebrate that with them either.

Pity you live so far away from them.
My daughter who is 12 loves to see her little 2nd cousins she has four, one little girl we see a lot of and she is three now, a little boy who is nearly four and lives on the Isle of Wight and we dont see him very much, and two little sisters who are 3 1/2 and 6 months we see them occaisionaly, the baby is partialy sighted and we wont know until she is older to what extent.
The best thing was when my daughter was five yrs old she had a nephew and he is 7yrs old now, they argue a bit and she likes him to call her auntie but he always calls her by her name. He comes to tea on wednesdays and I pick him up from school.
