Ruby Wedding

Its my sister and brother-in-law's ruby wedding on sunday and because as a family we have had a tough year they are not celebrating, ecept their son and daughter and partners are taking them out for a meal on saturday and i am babysitting.
Trouble is I dont know what to get them and money is tight ( i thought it was next year ) I have thought about having a red corsage and button hole for them to wear tomorrow, and some sort of red plant to go in a pot as they dont have a garden anymore just lots of pots, ( garden not theirs they live in a flat set in large grounds ) What else could I get.

Pot plant and button holes are a lovely idea. If they drink how about a bottle of red or sparkly pink? Maybe an IOU for babysitting so they can go out later when life starts to look a bit more kindly?

Its not their kids I'm baby sitting its their grand daughter lol I had thought about a bottle of red as that is their favourite but which one I have no idea

Just thought I'm going to pick two things from my lottie beetroot and red cabbage and make a basket up of red fruit and veg from the grrengrocers and put a bottle of red wine in it.

i'm doing a similar thing for outlaws golden anniversary, golden fruits & veg and things like 'gold blend' coffee, gold tea, etc. they dont drink so i'll keep the wine for me

So far apart from red cabbage and beetroot I have bought red apples, peaches and nectarines cos the skins are red, red onions aubergine, red pepper, red chilli, red grapes,strawberries,cherry toms on the vine as well as normal toms,and rhubarb, ( I picked and used all my rhubarb last week ). Will probably get raddish later.
I have covered one of those blue plastic trays with red paper, inside as well, and put bubble wrap under red tissue paper and laid the fruit and veg and put shredded tissue paper around, not sure if box is going to be big enough.

That sounds really lovely Jackie, very thoughtful, I'm sure they'll appreciate it. I was going to suggest getting them the rose 'Ruby Wedding' which they could grow in a container but it'd be too late to get one now anyway. Thanks for all your ideas no more room in the box unless I get a bigger one, trying to keep it fresh fruit and veg I might tell her most of it was bought !!!. the wine will have to go in a red bag !!!
Its her birthday on Tuesday as well !!!
