Do I say, "What this old thing - no, I've had it for years, you've seen it before, I took that picture of Uncle Charlie with it at the wedding in 2002, don't you remember"

or do I simply come clean and offer to take it back?

or do I simply offer wine, chocolates and Jimmy Choo shoes?

I'm pretty sure I've fallen for the "You've seen these before" answer when I've suddenly noticed, (I thought), a new pair of shoes or a new (to me) dress

Do I come clean, tell a lie or take her shopping in return?

Will I ever be able to use the lens without feeling guilty?

"I only bought the lens because I thought the world was going to be swallowed up by a black hole from Cern today"........(worth a try perhaps?)
Do what I did when I bought my 100-400 IS lens say nothing ... infact we're still not speaking 18 months later

Methinks not, She'd be worried she'd get a vengeful Bramley sprout up right in the middle of the patio, how would she explain that to the neighbours ,

I reckon she's thrown poor Johnny in the newly dug out bean trough, she'd get great runners next year

It is a cracking lens I use it all the time but the Sigma 80 -400 (?) OS isn't a bad one either and a bit less pennies. I'll flog you me Tamron 200-500 if you like but you have to hold it V still

Some cracking piccies on there Nick! I've voted on a few of them for you!

If you're a fellow EOS owner, there is a Canon EOS forum thats pretty good, especially for me as a noob to DSLR and PP, lots of good advice n some cracking shots for inspiration!

If you'd like to take a look at some of my piccies, then take a look at Dobbygraphs blogspot Dobbygraphs where I've a few posted, but I must say I like the format you've used for your piccy gallery, especially the voting bit! Must have a look at setting something similar up myself when I get some time to do it!

Lol! The EOS forum is almost as much fun as here (tho it is very photography orientated, so good place to learn and share!)

I got my EOS on the 26th July, so still very much learning how to get the best from it, but at least I've a bit of knowledge from having a 35 mm SLR in the past, unlike Mr D who's decided that he now wants to get into photography too, so wants a camera of his own, and has a lot to learn, but I'll be gentle with him! Honest!

As to nice piccy, I'm assuming you're on about the snowdon streams ones I posted on the EOS forum? Thanks for the kind words!! I am going to post them onto the dobbygraphs blogspot shortly, along with some others from the trip to North Wales!

PS - which one is your hubby on the EOS forum?

I ordered a new lens last night - a lensbaby.

It's the bendy one, so you get the effects of a holga, digitally. I already use a holga regularly, with a wide angle lens gaffertaped to the front; so can't wait for this.

One of my chums at photo school last night has bought a fish eye lens and one of these; and I got the shakes when I was playing with them. Fisheyes cost alot of cash, so I'll wait until the next NYC trip to get one; but the lens baby I found for £50 - will hopefully arrive on monday.

I haven't told the OH yet - but for £50 I probably will.

He never knew about the macro lens purchase...but did get on his high horse about the 70-300 lens purchase. Hence my tactics ever since.
