going with darling son to see his new flat today, he's going to pay his deposit, and pick up the keys, he has a choice of 2 in the same building, one is with 5 other 1st years, the other is with 5 2nd and 3rd years

he did come out with a good point ...... that hopefully living with 2nd and 3rd years, it might be more hygienic than living with 1st years lol ..... and he wouldn't have one with a shared bathroom, cos boys are disgusting .... i chuckled at that,

so another week and he will be gone have no idea what i'm gonna do with myself at nights when he's not here ..... he's been here 18 years, it's going to be very strange, and i don't want him to go now it's come down to it.

so although it's kind of exciting it's also a bit sad ....... might have to get a puppy

oh my heart goes out to you. you will miss him but at least you know he is safe and making his own way in the world. a puppy sounds like a good idea if you have the time. have a good cry and then put on a big smile and tell him how proud you are of him and give him a hug! i know it's hard but just think of how much you'll have to talk about when he comes home

OOOOOO now theres a plan i'll dig up my lawn and plant stuff ...... oh bugger, already done that ...... feels daft being upset really, he'll only be a 15 min train ride away,

have time for a puppy, i've already got one dog and a cat and a kitten, so i guess one more won't make much difference (though i'll probably get evicted lol) or i might get some sheep, save me mowing the lawn *wonders if i can get something to eat the privets* so i don't have to trim them either (son does the lawn mowing and hedge trimming, i need a replacement ) ..... i could adopt a teenager i suppose, one that likes gardening and house cleaning would be good

15 mins isn't that far really is it? Offer to pay his fare home whenever he wants to visit...that'll help him want to come back to 'home cooking' and a free washer and ironer ( you)

It'll probably be the going to bed at night which will make you miss him most- and the shared meals.( oh...and the lack of mess???)
From what we've heard about him over the past few months, he's a lovely lad, and he won't abandon you.
I still shed a few tears as my kids drive off after a visit.

It's a fantastic time of his life now- loads to experience, and hopefully along the way pass some exams!!

Well done to him- I hope he's very successful!

what you have to do is think of it this way, you will get more time to do you gardening and he will have the time of his life but when the chips are down and he needs a good meal there is only one place he will go and thats back home to see mom, who will be very busy and up to her eye's in gardening :-)

blow that, i haven't ironed anything for him since he was 13 and joined the army cadets and they said he had to iron his own uniform, the washing will work though, in the accommodation, it costs £3 to do one load of washing and drying ....... one load costs only 37p at home and £2 return on the train, so if he does 2 loads of washing it will work out dead cheap. (and his mate will pick him up in the car if he has loads

he's also getting a freezer for his room, so i can make him lots of food, so he doesn't have to eat at McDonalds every night lol

Oh I know he'll come home and yeah, the lack of mess will be good ..... i want to know why when i came back after a week away ...... there was still a huge pile of pots to be washed even though he bought me a dishwasher .... kids huh!!!

he did say if i go out in manchester i can stay with him instead of getting the last bus home ... and i don't mind him bringing washing home, but i'm not doing it if it's smelly
