Hope all goes well, today, Jane. If it's any help, I was always excited to have anything medical done as a kid, so I'm betting that you're more scared than he is. Good luck!

I hope everthing goes well with your son's op today. You can't help worrying though, it's what mum's do. Hugs for you both.

Hope everything goes O.K. for you both, as the others have said you're probably more worried than he is!

Sending big huggsss Janeyo, I'm sure all will be fine (my 18month old neice had grommits fitted recently and it was scary when she went under, but she came round not in the least bothered). Good luck, and let us know how you get on. Sue xxxx

Aaawww, good luck I'm sure all will go well, and yes you will be a gibbering wreck, I was when DD was tiny and had her tendons cut in her toes, it's just as they get wheel in for anaesthetic (Daddy went in I couldn't). Don't worry we all do it

Hang in there, janey. My nephew had that done and he's fine now---it's a really common op these days and it has a very high success rate.

I'm sure your little guy will be ok too. As Hayley said, watching the anesthetic is usually the worst part for me when my kids have had stuff done, but once they come out of it, they usually want to get on with it very quickly after the op.

Take care and all the best - XXX and an extra one for your little chap X

I'm sure all will go well but it is an awful upset for a parent (or a Granny) One of my grandsons was in hospital last week for a small op.(little man's troubles!) and I felt ill all day. He though took it in his stride and was fine!!

Hi thank you all so much for you lovely comments.

He was fine! As you all predicted - I managed to hold it together til he was alseep, then had to have a long walk to the coffee place wheer I went all dizzy and had to sit down, lol. Luckily I had OH with me.

He had both eyes done andis full of beans today although is a bit of a monkey for having the antibiotic drops in. I am bribing him with sweeties. It's either that or we will have to sit on him and force him which I really don't want to do!

The worst bit was having to hold him while they gassed him, even OH said it was horrible but he doeasn't remember it thank goodness. I will NEVER forget it and hope I don't have to do it again for him or the baby either.

He was sore after but they tell me he was the only one to open his eyes after, all the others refused. He even got a new book as a present from the nurses for being so good! He had some tea there and told the dinner lady that his portion was too small, so back to normal quickly, lol.

I was really proud of him, he was my little star! The op went well and eyes look very straight but we won't know for sure for 3 weeks. So keeping everything crossed.....

                                He loves his WALL.E toy.

The bad news is no PE for 4-6 weeks and no swimming. I have just paid for lessons and he won't be able to go til after half term... hoping I can get some money back.

Thanks all again, I can sleep a bit better now and stop worrying!
