Hi everyone!
I'd only just got started posting on this forum when I announced that I was heading off to the States to marry me sweetheart and upon returning with said sweetheart, get settled into a wonderful life together tending our (not my!) garden where we hope to grow as much of our own veggies as we can plus keep a couple of chickens to boot! Fresh eggs...mmmmmm...
Well, all went well from the point of view of the trip over there. The wedding itself was a wonderful affair and everything was going tickety-boo until.... that wonderful place known as Heathrow terminal 5 and that delightful rites of passage that all weary travellers must... endure - UK Border Control... (we now refer to it as 'The Gates Of Hell'). Not only did I eventually arrive home without our bags - all four of them, but I arrived home without my wife! Unbeknown to us, it seems we had the wrong visa. We had the 'marriage' visa, which is not what you need, apparently. So, to cut what is already a long story short, 10 agonising weeks and another £550 later, we now have the correct one which will allow Anne Marie to at last join me... just in time to get the garden ready for winter!!! But hey, we have the rest of our lives to spend in the garden and as we are both still novice-ish, we will no doubt be chibbing your brains for tons more tips and advice!!!
So, here's to the future! And beyond!!!
