I am just watching this on channel 4, and yes the specimens are..........huge!

but, what do they actually taste like?

does anyone else think that maybe, just maybe, this is a complete and utter waste of good veg?

no offence to any competition growers out there, everyone i guess wants to grow the best, but is the biggest the best?.

Nope, biggest aren't always the best but don't be misled into thinking that 'Big means tasteless' because that's not necessarily true!

Even if it has little taste, it's still an achievement to be proud of, it's taken up space where weeds would have grown, and it'll make great compost (or feed it to the chickens)
