  • Sigh.......

Bless my OH he does like to help at the lottie when he gets time (not very often) and I usually like to supervise him(!)
I'm not a control freak I just want to be sure I have some crops left.

I'd been grumbling about the amount of weeding that needed doing and was grumpy to be on night duty all weeked when the weather was so lush and all, so he decided to surprise me by doing a bit of weeding for me, sweet!!

Went to the lottie yeaterday pm to inspect the beautifully turned over naked bed where my spinach used to be! Sigh........

I've got one like that...I think I may have scared him from hoeing off too much at long last.

Just yesterday, I noted that one of my two red onion sets that ended up in the brassica bed [no idea how, but anyway], was missing. I may have inferred that he had hoed it up by mistake. A dead silence ensured, and I got a 'Here it is - it was under some soil, it must have fallen over'...bless him.

Oh no! How hard was it not to kill the helpful soul? I found my Hubby cheerfully weeding some alliums in the front garden. Ok so they arent supposed to be popping out yet but still....
Now hes not allowed to "help" without supervision.

Mine did this, too. I was given a lovely alpine flowering creeper-thing (can't remember the name of it!), which I settled on a cultivated patch and kept it fed and watered. To my pleasant surprise, I got it to set down roots and establish itself, next to another equally pretty thing...

...until OH helped me weed the garden. 'Don't touch those TWO plants', I said. He heard 'don't touch that one'. My hard work was reduced to a pile of tidy soil. Sob!

Their minds are too little to be allowed out alone!

how about drawing a diagram and (somehow) marking the bits that he MUST leave untouched. It is hard to be cross when someone is trying to help but it is also hard not to be cross when they have pulled up the wrong stuff

I wouldn't mind (well, I would actually) but he used to be a chef, you'd think he'd know what spinach looks like!
Couldn't be too cross though, he was only trying to make me happy!

When my OH cuts the grass he goes at it like crazy trouble is he ruins anything in the border that overhangs, he just pushes the mower into it. The only bit of gardening he does.
