    DigThatChick is right, there is no actual law against bonfires. Allotment sites may have their own rules, but personally I think it's all about consideration ... don't make it smoky, don't do it when washing is out. I usually wait until somebody else lights up (a BBQ) before I put mine on

      When a neighbour called the fire crew out for our bonfire we got a firelady! . They're only a few yards away from us anyway. They're emergency signals interfere with the TV.
