How about water collection methods to use in areas that have hose pipe bans.
I know that Bob Flowerdew has one in his book "The no work Gardener".
This week hose pipe bans were put into operation in some parts of the UK.
Some areas never had last years lifted during last winter.

Bumping this back to the top as a lot of our ideas have been taken on board and used in the magazine in the last six months.
When I started this thread I was just a newbie and the vine had only been going three months. Back then we had about 150 Grapes on the vine.
Now we have over 800 grapes and I just wonder what the new ones would like to see in the magazine?

I would like to see what real people do in their real gardens whether big, small, vegetable or flower. And more info on getting the best from your green house or polytunnel.

I would like to see how people manage with teeny weeny gardens, and see how people with mobility and other problems manage to find ways and means of being able to carry on with this hobby, pref without breaking bank on having to buy loads of gizmos n gadgets, for gardening at home, but especially allotment gardening.

Being disabled myself and knowing that there are a number of grapes who have problems, I agree with lyndap and would like to see more about gardening with disabilities.

I find myself reading the mag over and over again - it really is brilliant!

Yes, I agree with you both. Real people, in real gardens, with real problems, is what we want to see.

Myself, I'd quite like to see more articles/meatier recipies section on ways to use up gluts of the features fruit or veg of the month. I know we get recipies at the moment but I'm no gourmet chef, I like it easy and with flavour and what I have in the cupboard. I realise the recipies they do are to look appealing in the mag and I'm sure they taste lovely, but it's not my scene.

Recipies on conserving gluts - i.e. not just 'you can make jams and pickles' but different wine/chutney/jam etc recipies to try as well as a good dose of tips on freezing/drying etc... the specific fruit or veg.

Not only does it give goos ideas for what I already have, but sometimes when I'm thinking if growing in my garden, I'm put off as I don't know how to use up the glut (if I'm ever lucky enough to have one that is )
