don't do it lynda,if any of you had stuck on your head what i have, then you will have something to say, i have very frizy hair, fiz,in corrie has nothing,i have to keep mine reasonably short,3 or 4 inch tops, have tried to grow it but it just sticks out in all directions, when i get tarted up to go anywhere special i spend at least 1/2 hour with a hot air brush, and any damp or rain, its fiz again,i was taunted almost to death at school, and work in my younger days, have now learned what i can do with it,NOT MUCH,i wish i had hair like yours,my worst problem the lasst few years,is finding somone who can cut it like i do,have tried a few, they think because it shrinks back it does'nt matter if the lengths are not quiet level, but it does ,if I can do it myself i certainly expect a so called expert to do it how i ask for goodness sake,i to have thaught about shaving it all of,but way in the past, apparently it grows back even friziersigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

I think you've got a strong, pretty face Lynda & could carry off very short hair, but I'd only do it for charity if I was you & to be honest I myself wouldn't do it at all. Your hair looks lovely long & straight & dark so maybe it's worth persevering with the straighteners or maybe use curling tongs occasionally to bring out the curl. I haven't been to the hairdresser for years & just chop it myself to about shoulder length, I have to wash it everyday, spritz it & spend ages blow drying it otherwise it just looks a total mess as my hair just has a slight kink in it that means it likes to stick out everywhere!Into every life a little rain must fall.

I think you should go for it Lynda. It'll soon grow back to a longer style if you decide it's not for you and in the meantime, those wigs look fab.
Go on, get the clippers out. I'm tempted myself now!I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery

you don't actually have to shave it ya know with clippers.
when i got rid of the ex, I grew my hair to 3foot long, then on a whim took theclippers to it, short hair suits me, cos i have a pointy face.
I have ever since used myclippers, with the longest comb, you can get them on the web, or if you have a hirdresser supply shop near.
I use an 8 which gives me a nice inch, and cut with the growth rather than against so it feathers into a pixie like cap, bit of wax to give it texture, voila!Vive Le Revolution!!!'Lets just stick it in, and see what happens?'Cigarette FREE since 07-01-09

Eek! You serious??
I'm another one in the no camp, if only because you said you did it once and cried about it. I also 'did it once' and cried about it and it was an awful year, waiting for it to grow back to ponytail length. I just don't suit short hair, end of. Your pics look lovely and I really don't think you'll suit very short hair. A bob would be a compromise and wouldn't take long to grow out if you didn't like it.
I hate hair dressers and haven't been to one in nearly three years. I had a mobile one cut it last October, I cut my own in February and plan another cut this weekend! I just get OH to hold a mirror behind me so I can check for any bits I've cut wonky!

Lynda
Don't shave your head, or at least wait a month before you go for it. Your hair looks lovely long and dark. I think, with your lovely, eyes a sleek bob would frame your face nicely and be easy to manage.
