I love my Dyson am on my second one in about 10 years! I had my old one serviced once, had it for about 4-5 years, was nothing really wrong with it when I got rid of it! I just decided to upgrade to the Dyson Animal as I have 5 cats! The turbo head attatchment is great for the stairs!!! It picks up all the hairs from where the cats sleep on the stairs. Also I have a long thin bendy attatchment to go with mine, is great for getting into hard to get at places! Long live Dyson!

I remember during my time at Electrolux they tried to launch this thing called a Centrevac. Basically a large vacuum unit housed somewhere in the beuilding, then a series of "tubes" within the walls of the house. You bascially connected the "hose" to these little points around the house (looked like plug sockets) and away you go. It was virtually silent - on account that the actual "machine" is housed somewhere else, like a basement or some such. Worked fantastically in timber framed buildings as they had internal cavities in the wall for the hoses to run through, but it didn't really take off here. Big seller in Canada and Sweden apparently.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

Busy saving for my miele, ahhh soon.
We had a Miele after the first Dyson broke(my husband wanted one), it lasted less than a year so we had to buy another Dyson.

I'm trying to work out how long I've had my Hoover for It's at the very least 5 years old. And I've never paid anyone a penny for repairs. I've bought one new set of filters, and one belt in that time. I've had to dismantle it once to clean the motor, and that was after OH hoovered up loads of plaster dust with it. I love it
Pretty sure it's older than that...
Oh, and I have a vastly moulting German Shepherd, had 3 cats (down to 1 now ), and got 3 kidsLast edited by SarzWix; 03-10-2008, 02:03 AM.

It was our dogs that killed the Dysons including the animal, only two hairy GSDs then.

Its odd but now my dyson is fixed the carpets look 'clean' again!!
I irish wolf hound in full coat and 3 labs moulting and a staffie adding his fair share soon has the carpet covered and looking dull !!!
I do clean the carpets every monthto keep them fresh and i would like wooden floors but the dogs slip and slide and it is dangerous for them we had some in the last house and it was like watching swan lake on ice when the door bell rang :lol
Not to mention the noise !!!!!!
I used to be a cleaner and have used all kinds of cleaners even the one in the wall !!
and i hated the first dysons and vowed i would never get one, but they go better as time went on, lets put it this way im a happy bunny now its fixed
