I was going to suggest the same, HF. It's actually illegal to leave mud on the road - one poor farmer was made to clean our road last year after similar accidents near the entrance to his field, including a bus carrying kiddies, which skidded straight out at a junction into a busy road. All those signs saying 'mud on road' don't mean diddly squat.

    Hope you're ok, Mrs D.

At least you're ok and that's the main thing,

You were not responsible for the road condition and it sounds as if there was something on the road and there was definitely someone looking out for you. MINI will be fine soon too no serious damage, she'll be good as new when comes out of hospital

Oh, Mrs D, do look after yourself for a few days and make sure you really are okay. So glad to hear it wasnt as bad as it could have been, and you'll soon have MINI back in tip top condition

Mrs D, sorry to hear about the accident. I hope you are feeling better soon and take it easy for a day or few.

I have driven that road [Derby to Wilmslow], just the once - in the snow with no wipers [the electric system had a fault on it] and i had to keep stopping to rinse the screen with bottled water. Not a nice journey in any way shape or form.

glad you ok mrs D and sorry to hear about your MINI, i too would be gutted, but i dont have mine anymore :-( .

The main thing is, is that you are ok and were being looked after by the gods that day.

Hope you get her back soon x

Glad to hear your OK Mrs D. MINI will be fine once the MINI doctors and Nurses have he/she/it sorted out and back home sparkly and new .
You don't have to explain it to me .
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

Bad karma Mrs D!! But you are OK and that is what counts. Lee - give da missus a good massage to relieve the aches - hot, scented bath with candles burning, dim the lights...

Anyway, Mrs D... 35 MPH!?!?!? We've raced our cars remember! You don't do 35 MPH. And the only reason I backed down following you to Barmouth was Shirls was giving me grief. No, not you Nick - the verbal GBH type. Sam says your MINI didn't deserve it BTW! He enjoyed that race we had.

Sounds like you bent a lower wishbone and damaged the ABS pickup coil in the outer CV joint. But at least you didn't get bent. The MINI quacks will have her back to a racing condition again.

Why do the rozzers want the docs for the car? They have a PNC which can check for themselves if the car is taxed/tested and insured.

Get well soon Mrs D. I think maybe you were being looked after...

Woah, glad you're okay Mrs D.

Get out there on the Edge and make some sincere offerings. Oh and while you're at it see if there's any blackberries and sloes!

Hi Guys, and thanks once again for the kind words and support, they are appreciated!

                        Lol Max!

It was very wet, just beginning to go dark, and that road is not good at the best of times, so believe it or not, I was taking it easy (if it had been dry, then I'd have been going a lot quicker), hence the speed being only about 35-40mph!

Picked up the loan car, a Mitsubishi Colt, 56 plate, which already has rust evident at 11K miles, and drives like a tractor (and its not even a diesel!), and is a horrible thing compared to my MINI, but at least I'm mobile again!

Had a good walk on the edge, and a few private quiet moments to say what I wanted, plus took some picccies with the new lens on my camera (tho did spend a lot of time teaching Lee how to use his new camera! lol!)

Took all the docs in to the Police too, all ok, they recorded everything - all in order too!
                        Blessings

Hope you're feeling much better Mrs Dobby. These things really shake you up as you get such a fright. Glad is wasn't any worse and the car can be mended. Be kind to yourself for a few days. I'm sure Dobby is taking good care of you.

Glad you're O.K. Mrs D., that road can be quite nasty can't it, we go along there every so often. Hope Lee has been looking after you although I see he's already getting you to brew up for him, you should be demanding he make you sweet tea with extra sugars for shock!
