  • The things children say!

My 4 yr old as you may remember (I bang on about it enough lol) has started school and LOVES it.

He came home yesterday and said...

'when we have assembly we have to nod our head and close our eyes and say ARMY, but I don't really know why'!.

I nearly fell off the chair laughing! So did daddy when he came home too, so just wanted to make you all smile too!

LOL, how sweet. Sometimes it seems such a pity they have to grow up Our baby will be 13 next week - can anyone explain where the time went?

'it's this kind of thing that I'm really looking forward to.'

Don't Worry, there will be howlers galore when the talking starts!

Just remembered when he was quite small and we met a friend in a supermarket who has long straggly hair and a pointy nose. Just as we moved off my son says in a LOUD voice. 'Mummy is her a witch?'

I couldn't get the trolley away fast enough, while OH hooted with laughter!

I love listening to childrens chatter especially when they think no else is listening. Shirl my daughter will be 13 next April having had boys before its like she's 18 already. Going to have a big party for her and eldest son cos he will be 30 the day after her 13th. Should be interesting.

Good luck! Our elder son (only the two) will be 18 in January and I remember rocking him to sleep in my arms. Why am I surprised when I spot grey hairs?

              Children

i's sometimes the things they repeat that make you more embarassed.

though not often, i am sometimes taken over by road rage in form of the odd expletive at really poor road use. so recently in a large store in Derby my son said in a loud and quite clear voice look dad its the Tw@t of the roundabout who cut you up earlier.

see "6foot 20 stone man wish to curl up and die" (very quickly)

My youngest son will be 21 next week now that makes me feel old he was the smallest in height now he is well over 6ft tall as are all four of my boys. Grey hairs, I have more than my fair share. I was the same age as my mum was when she had me, when my daughter was born, I only have to look at what she was like and I see me My sister often catches her reflection in a shop window and she thinks oh there's Jack only to find its her self how sad is that.

I love the things kids say, a friend of mine has two small boys, the 4 year old asked how they knew her friends baby was a girl because she had no hair, he thought long hair made you a girl.

when I was about 3 I went up to my parents room early one morning holding my head on one side and both hands over my ear I said, "mummy I've got diarhea" I had an ear ache
                  Yo an' Bob
                  Walk lightly on the earth
                  take only what you need
                  give all you can
and your produce will be bountifull

I went, this afternoon to my four year old grandson, Charlie's "Harvis Festabul".
I sang the same harvest hymns, sitting in the same school as I did when I was Charlie's age. The school is now bright and modern, the teachers kindly and friendly but I was, for a while, four years old, very strange!

My Big Lad said his favourite bit of school was sex! When I asked about it, he said that at lunch time when they've had first helpings they are allowed to have sex. Took me a minute to work out the shorthand for 'seconds'!

My grandson becomes easily bored in the car so I usually point things of interest out; "Ooh, Tom. Where are the sheep? Can you see the sheep?" And I get a reply; "There they are, I can see the sheep Nanny!" A couple of weeks ago though it was "Where are the cows, Tom?" Answer, despairing sigh, followed by; "Put your glasses on, Nanny!"
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

My son had a problem in his early years, pronouncing "ck" or "k" sounds. My (then) wife was very red-faced when his Teacher asked her what he meant when he said (often)....
                          "Futts Sate !"
Sent from my pc cos I don't have an i-phone.

When my youngest daughter started school, she came home one day and said they'd been singing hymns and her favourite one was "Zingazanga" Took me a while to work out it was "Sing Hosanna". We still call it Zingazanga
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there
