    I didn't get the nesting instinct either - I just accumulated more stuff. Still occasionally finding the kids' stuff. They are 36 and 33 and neither has lived at home since leaving University!

        I didn't nest, i did get up at 3 am every night to make microwave suet pudding with golden syrup, but nesting was beyond me, i did clean out two cupboards because i felt guilty for not nesting tho, does that count?

          'nesting instinct' doesn't always mean clearing out! Sometimes it means getting even MORE 'useful' junk. You buy things 'for the baby'......
          In my family (me and all my 3 big sisters) the first sign of approaching labour was always an urge to do some redecorating (12 hours or so before the first physical signs).
          Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
