BG waste of time. My saga with them lasted 18 months! They were billing me on the wrong meter! Next time you get a bill just check the meter number on the top of it and compare with your own, you'd be surprised! They wanted nearly £1000 for 8 months supply and I told them where to shove it! Guess what, I didn't pay for 18 months and they revised my bill and I ended up owing them (with what they had overcharged me for years) £300 pound! Shows doesn't it I could have carried on like for years!

Mr Sheds never checked any of his statements before I met him. He had a direct debit for his leccy, paid every month.
I came along, started checking his readings: found a big discrepancy. Called B.Gas, who virtually accused us of winding the meter back !
Finally got an engineer out, who told us the meter didn't work, and had never worked because it wasn't connected !

PS. According to the old statements, they had "read the meter" on more than one occasion

I'm with BG and have been since we moved to this house. For the first 2 years we were on a DD using a meter that you have to read to get billed correctly. Every time a Siemens engineer came to read the meter he would say its not set up right you need to contact BG and tell them to sort it. I would contact BG, tell them what engineer said. They would then want a meter reading, which I could not give but they said that they couldn't do anything to sort meter without reading. After 2 years of conversations like this and estimated bills I'm ashamed to say I lost my temper when a demand for nearly a grand came through my door. I shouted at somebody, who then got a more senior bod and they got shouted at too.
A week or two later I got a revised bill, a prepayment meter set up to pay what I owed at a fiver a week.
I have changed before, but they enticed me back but all I want is value for money with no hidden costs, but I don't believe any energy company will give that. After all, all they care about is making profits.
If anyone else is on prepayment and can recommend a company that is less inept than BG I'd be happy to hear more.

Southern Electric have the lowest level of complaints in the industry, and EDF
          are next best.
