Wowza! Now that IS a big one! You must post a photo when it's carved up!

Wow I'm jealous, but eh it's all in the carving ain't it

Ps - Mrs D I was jealous when I visited your allotments and spied your beautiful pumpkins, (and no before you add no rude comments thanks!) would you notice if a couple were missing?

We had rather scrummy pumpkin curry for tea...plenty leftover for the freezer!Mrs D I think like you we're not gonna go short! But there's just so many varieties to pick just a couple!!We grew Turks Turban for the 1st time this year(not the easiest to chop but tasted good)& thanks to now having internet access(so many sites!)several others!!Got my eye on our neighbouring plot~they just take up sooo much room & become sooo addictive!!

somebody posted this last year, I thought it was good enough to repeat:

                Excellent!!My Tuesday's begun with a giggle!
I think a pumpkin saw sounds like just what I need~not sure how many more pumpkins my knives can take?!I did inherit an at the time rather odd kitchen utensil from a late aunt~not sure if it's what it was intended for but it makes a rather good flesh /seed scooper!

Rhona!!!!! Kiss, kiss, kiss. You put the apostrophe in Hallowe'en. If you see it magic markered on various posters around Sheff over the next couple of weeks I'm afraid I'm the culprit. I've been known to develop something of a nervous tic at this time of the year.
Yes, I've grown one for my Grandson, but he's just having the largest one of this year's crop. Next year we're going to attempt one of the truly huge ones. I don't know about a kayak, but I'd like to grow one large enough to make him a playhouse.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

My pumpkins failed at the first hurdle like most of my seeds in my little greenhouse I tend to forget them. I liked those that they used for rowing in on the news.

I didn't manage to grow any this year. I started off with 6 pumpkin plants (unfortunately gave 2 away) and the slugs got the rest. I also had a load of squash plants (summer and butternut) and all of those failed as well. Even the additional plants my uncle gave me (an extra 3).

I will probably buy a pumpkin though this year, as the toddler is getting very interested in birthdays, Christmas and Hallowe'en. (It's my birthday right after Hallowe'en, so I am looking forward to it - although apparently I have to bake biscuits with the toddler as she has to give them to me as a present!! ).
