I've always moved with the grace of a lump of wood. Ballet training must help in other activities like sport. Just look at the male dancers, not an ounce of spare flesh on them. They must have incredible stamina and strength. Imagine the confidence that would come with being that fit and agile.

Thanks everyone... Will try and source a local class for him and see if they do a trial class or something. I know he's good with discipline etc as I took him to a karate class a few month back (this oddly was the 'want' at the same time the ballet classes started )
Anyway, the one class we took him to, he was sooooo concentrated I was really proud of him...

Until they started shouting 'ki-ai' or however you spell it, to emphasise the impact of the moves they do and he burst into tears. The poor class instructor bless him came running over wondering what had happened and couldn't console Nathan for love nor money. Needless to say Nathan never wanted to go back... Not one for loud noises if my little boyShortie

Aranthos (elder son) was very interested in doing ballet for a few years but sadly we never managed to find the place I was told the classes were. There are better advertised classes locally now but I don't think my now approaching 18 year old would be so keen!
I would say encourage your son but if he decides it is not for him don't push too hard. Ballet makes you strong in a totally different way to bodybuilding. It promotes balance and good posture. I wish there was an adult class here as I would love to go back to dancing to improve my strength and stamina.
