It can be difficult to find what we believe are the right words to say in some circumstances, but I'm sure each posters reply is appreciated. Just a few words like, I'm sorry you're in this situation, We're thinking of you, can make all the difference to someone feeling alone or upset. We are a community after all, and share with each other the trials and tribulations of gardening (stressful enough in itself) as well as other things, and when I send my condolences or say my thoughts are with you to someone I genuinely mean it.

I would say if you don't feel comfortable saying something then don't, no one will think any the less of you for it.

I'm really really new here but there have been some posts where I have shed tears and felt compelled to give support sometimes with just virtual hugs cause I didn't know what to say.

Like Two Sheds I was seriously ill a few years ago but had friends come to see me but was eventually transferred to Addenbrookes where the ward visiting hours clashed with the rush hour and distance stopped people coming. After a couple of weeks OH and DD (only 7 then) had to have a bit of a break from visiting and came only every few days cause they would have spent a couple of hours travelling for only half an hour with me. I was so lonely especially since I was pretty much bed-ridden and sooooo bored. I wish I had access to the vine then, it would have been so much better.

Just knowing peeps care helps I'm sure.
