Council just phoned, there's a half plot available!

I'm so excited....I just wanted to tell someone, husband's on the phone at work and my parents are visiting my sister in Australia and I want to tell someone...

Had my name down since Christmas, and thought it would be Jan before one became available, but I need to call the chairman of the allotment committee tonight and he will show me the plot.

Great News LJ. I recently took mine on and I'm having so much fun. Just to pass on advice given to me, don't try to do too much too quickly. I've manged to dig 2 beds, one of which I plan to plant up with winter onions tomorrow if weather allows. Also going to try 2 or 3 no dig beds. Set them up now and hopefully plant up when I need to. That way 5 beds already sorted and if "No Dig" beds don't work I can always dig them over later. Hope you enjoy yourself as much as I am. Keep us posted.

Oh LJ, I remember you saying a while back that you wanted an allotment - how exciting that it's happening for you! Well done!! Now just enjoy it, you have many years to get it just how you want it - and as others have said, keep taking photos so you can track your progress (and show us nosey lot here as well!!)

Thanks all, have been to see it...it's at the bottom of the slope opposite the manure heap. I took some pictures in the downpour that was happening at the time, but I'm not sure how to make them small enough to post here?

Grass is kneehigh (hence why previous incumbent was evicted) it's 6m wide and 8m long and I'm already planning what I'd like to do with it....strim I think is the first job!
