I was rather cynical about JO's new 'Ministry of Food' even though I hadn't seen it (I just don't watch celebrity chefs) I thought that there was so much more to it than just learning someone how to cook; you have to teach them about nutrition, how to shop, how to budget. Not to mention overcoming at least a couple of generations worth of poor eating habits. Anyway, deciding it probably wasn't a good idea to criticize something I hadn't actually seen I bit the bullet and watched it last night and I have to say I was impressed. OK, so there's still more to it than just learning how to follow a recipe, but unless someone is able to do that very basic thing then they're never going to pick up the rest. You have to start somewhere and I think he's doing that. So, sorry, Jamie. I wish you the best of luck.
Now, if we could just get a T.V. gardener to come on board and show people how to grow basic fruit and veg without too much outlay..........
