I'm in Trouble

Yesterday I put the Mantis to work on the lottie. When I got home I removed the tines and gave them a good wash. Looking at them afterwards I thought, surely I can get them cleaner than that, so I put them in the dishwasher. (On their own I hasten to add). Any way, I forgot all about them until Mrs snuffer came looking for me, on the warpath. She'd gone to put something in the dishwasher and come accross my lovely, shiny,brand new looking tines.

She was not a happy bunny.

No you should have explained that you saw on the web how if you put that type of steel into a dishwasher occassionally, the detergent causes a reaction that actually cleans the hidden areas of the dishwasher and extends it's life.

She should be thanking you for your selfless behaviour in risking your tines for her benefit.

Oops Snuffer, still a good idea though!

Since OH moved in I've tried to keep my grubby gardening habits to myself. He came home the other day, I was on here (!) and my newly washed flower pots were still stacked on the draining board and I hadn't cleaned the sink. His reaction? Wouldn't it be more efficient to put the pots in the dishwasher! He's a good man! I haven't tried it yet - has anyone else? What else do you put in the dishwasher?

But I don't need a dishwasher, same as a washing machine. I'm perfectly happy with the magic basket in the bedroom, put clothes in and they reappear in the bedroom all clean and pressed.

I put my muddy plant labels in the dishwasher ... they tend to come out all bendy though.

Oooh that takes me back a while.
One of my ex-wives (bursts into song "I'm Henry the VIIIth I am I am) had a real phobia with maggots. Left them in the fridge overnight in a container before going fishing. Got up early and removed them, dropped the container on the floor and it opened. Doh!! Maggots everywhere. I thought i had herded them all up and away I went.
Received an unprintable phone call a couple of hours later.

Madmax has been known to clean up jukebox components (not the plastic bits!) in the dishwasher.

You should try coping with my OH - I get all sorts of things turn up in the dishwasher, tow ropes in the washing machine. As for his washing it miraculaously disappears from the floor appears in a wash basket and eventually appears on his clothes rack all clean.
