  • Just to introduce myself

Hello everyone, Im new to this forum. You seem like a friendly bunch! 'scuse the spelling just been slicing onions and my eyes still smart!!!
I wonder if anyone can help me, We've got a 7' hedge growing round our garden and I was thinking about buying a Black & Decker extendable cordles trimmer to do battle with it. Is this machine any good or should I save up for a more butch one. The ground round the hedge is uneven so steps, platforms etc. are not safe.
Hope to hear from you soon!!!
off to look at the booze making threads and dream about my "brews" being ready

Welcome to the Vine Compostman! Can't help you with the hedge trimmer as hedges are not really the scene up here.
Can recommend the Rhubarb Schnapps though! This was quite the discussion thread during the winter and many of us have jars sitting in the cupboard awaiting the opening moment.

None around LJ, Will I do

I'd save up for a butcher model, The Idea is good but sods law says it will run out at a critical moment! If you're worried about having electric cables everywhere, buy a petrol one or if you feel really extravagant a Mantis tiller with the hedge cutting attachment (see their websitefor details).

Anyway Welcome to the Vine CM.

Hi Compostman - glad another lunatic has joined - soon we'll have enough to take over the Asylum !

Have a look at a site called fred's shed or something similar - try googling - he does reviews of all gardening pwer tools and I know he has reviews on hedgetrimmers. Sorry can't be more specific about name of website, but NTG knows it - he put me onto it - or try looking at the thread posted recently where a fellow grape was asking about garden forks - the link to the site is on that thread somewhere.
