Not sure if this has been asked or whether it is leverage for more compensation....Who owned the tractor that did the digging in the first place? The council? They have a waiting list for the allotment sites, can they proove that the person (Council worker was it?) had been on the list and worked their way though?

Sounds like people have really got their teeth into this, and i also think this council needs to answer alot of questions re their allotment policy, i would be interested to know just how many council employees have allotments when they first asked for their name to be added to the list and just how quick they were allocated an allotment, also who rents the other overgrown plots (which Tricky said were in a worse state than he's) could they be council employees or possibly a friend of theirs, makes you think (well it does me) maybe it's time for a few requests via the FREEDOM OF INFOMATION act, if we all stuck a request in for some info think how busy they would suddenly become, and i think i'm right in saying THEY HAVE TO ANSWER YOUR REQUEST WITHIN A SET TIME LIMIT.
Just thought i might throw that out there.
All the best

not sure the freedom of information act can be used to get that sort of information, an individual is entitled to apply via the act to be given access to any information held by the council about them, not other people, there is a £10 fee for this. They do have to supply it, but as I said, its only info about you, not anyone else.Vive Le Revolution!!!'Lets just stick it in, and see what happens?'Cigarette FREE since 07-01-09

The same things happens to two people on the same plot? Who knows what happens to people on other plots? If I was the kind of person to think cynically, knowing that the plot was re-assigned to a council worker? I wonder who got murphy's law's plot?To see a world in a grain of sand

I think if you were *very* cynical, you might wonder just how many plots on the site have been given to council workers - and then you might wonder whether all those people might magically give up their plots without a fight should the council have the opportunity to sell off the land...I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
