I think I had this earlier in the year I dont normally suffer with illness too much and being a mum darry on but sit down lots in between jobs, not this time I spent two days in bed and had to stay home from work even though my work night was after the third day of being ill. Never felt so Ill and thought I was dying OH went to work and I was really scared that something would happen to me.

I hope you don't think I'm evil, but I had to laugh at that. Only because I've been in that situation, you understand!

Hope all you sickies are feeling better now/soon. Have never had this bug, but am sick in the manner above, once a month, so do sympathise!

Hope you're all feeling a bit better now. Don't try to do too much too soon. It can take you a week or so to get back to normal. For one thing, you have to rehyrdate and get those 4 or 5 pounds back .

No, I like having those 5 pounds off! My stomach seems to have shrunk - I can't finish even a bowl of soup, not even a Sticky Toffee Pudding is appealing to me.

The sickness only lasted a few hours, but I still have my snotty cold.

I've gone right off tea and coffee, my taste buds seem to have altered. I am drinking gallons of Asd@ LemonGingerMango herbal tea (50p) with Vitamin C dissolved in it.

Your taste buds as well; I lost my ability to taste anything for days after this. I did have a really heightened sense of smell though - to the extent of nearly throwing up after cleaning my teeth as it was HYPER minty. And I didn't drink tea or coffee until yesterday.

Started feeling perky on Sunday night...so was ill for a week. Still not got rid of the cold though.

Hopefully it should be gone for you soon as well.

I've got it as well, spent all Monday night sitting on loo being sick into a waste paper bin at the same time! Couldn't keep even water down yesterday, sickness eased today but still rushing to loo, only managed a cup of water & a cup of cranberry juice today, I've lost about 4 lbs in weight too. Not had this particular bug before & don't want it again!

Brat2 is home, and is throwing up, hoping its not going to be too bad as we have already had it earlier this year, it should have diminished in strength this time round.

Do you all catch it from one another? My sister-in-law & her family all had it at the same time earlier this year & were told not to go near anyone else for a few days, it seems to be everywhere.

thats what me and the eldest have, so I am hoping that we wont all get it full blown, earlier this year we did not have it all together, it was the longest 5 weeks , one going down after another about a week apart.

You must have a stronger constitution!!! It was horrid. I couldn't eat anything so I had some ginger ale [I always do when I've got upset tummy], and when it came up again an hour later it nearly took the inside of my mouth off it was so acidy. It really burnt and really hurt. yuk.

well they did say when it first hit last year, that as it goes through people and passes around, it lessens each time, we missed the first round, and I had it much worse than the boys than goodness, although the eldest got it first, and then again last, but the second time it was slight and over in 24 hours.

I can sympathise, my 9 year old had D&V last week, lasted 5 days, had a day off then my 6 year old started with it, lasting another 5 days. Poor little loves, half term was a wash out. They're both better now, trying to get them fed up again with lots of good food!
It was a nasty gastroenteritis, but I don't think it was the noro virus (winter sickness bug) as I've nursed people with that nasty and had it myself some 15 years ago, really horrid.
