  • Who will be first??

Well, the weather is certainly autumnal (with the occasional refreshing blasts of hot sunshine reminding us of that long hot summer). Lets hope for a few more days of sunshine in the next few weeks.

Have been watching the night temperatures steadily dropping to 8 oC which has got me wondering who will be first to be hit by frost??
As our allotment is in a bit of a frost pocket, we have to be on alert at 4 oC
Maybe now is the time to start looking out for fleece in preperation?

    So....who will be first?

Definately colder today even here. Yesterday I was gardening in t-shirt and shorts and today I had to look for a heavy jacket! NW wind and cold with it.

Will be interesting Nicos to see who gets the first frost and how far north they are.

Live in East Anglia and my morning temp was down to 9 C the other day! We should still be warm until the 10th October when we usually get our first frost! Will keep an eye open and see what happens!

I wore mine this morning or didn't you mean that sort of fleece!

It is a bit more Autumnal but it may warm up a bit come september.

I'm really lucky here on the South coast very rarely attacked by frost especially in the garden. Unfortunately though if it does happen I'm usually unprepared, so far have only lost geraniums but will be taking more care now that I'm more veggie orientated! Will be looking out for tips on how to prepare for winter.

Snail, The only way you can prepare for winter is to wrap yourself in cotten wool and sit in a small box (food may be nessary)
