I've been here about 18 months now and have seen the vine grow hugely in that short time. I've learnt soooo much from all you knowledgeable peeps, had some great laffs, and made some great friends along the way (not sure I've given much back in the way of help and advice, still a novice myself, but a few seeds have been dispatched over the months) - long may it continue!

Wot's wrong with Hoodies ????
I wear them all the time for working - especially now the cold weather is here and I'm out lifting veg uin the cold winds.

I know that sometimes we have our differences and the forum can get "lively" by our standards but trust me it's tame compared to a couple of other places that I am a member of . One mistake or missplelt word and WW3 erupts and some of the backbiting and deliberate moderator baiting is unreal.One forum at the moment in the top ten general chat threads about 6 are whinging and backbiting about decisions that the Moderators and Website owners have made. It's actually quite nice to come here for a little civilised chat every now and again.

yes, we are (or have been) getting spam botted - see 'visitor numbers' thread and us trying to get Ben out of the cupboard (to no avail, sorry HOTH!) I'm pretty sure Mods are on it, so it should slow down.

If you look at some of the usernames it's a giveaway, they (the machines) use a generated style of lettering - it is a pain for anyone with a commerical website but there are ways to prevent it.

It does not harm the users, it can, however, slow the site up

Another thing to remember is that although we have 9000 odd members some may not be able to take part due to them being banned because they are spammers .You may find the actual numbers of people allowed to post may be a lot less than 9000. When you sign up it counts a another member but if you later get banned your number is still in the system .

Well I for one absolutely LOVE being a member of this forum. I get my daily "fix" at least 3 or 4 times a day
