Ooh I only got a partial reg no but got a good description of the driver - info is now with Strathclyde Police The poor wee guy is a mongrel - wee bit of staffie, collie. Took commands immmediately. Nearly bubbled when he rolled on his back to get tummy rubs (he got tummy rubs!) He is now getting a bath and food at Mauchline kennels. Dog Warden with my local council is also reporting the driver to the police. Thanks for offers of help in castrating the driver but that pleasure will be all mine The driver was young (aged about 21) dressed to the nines - how can anyone just throw away such a gorgeous animal (not in looks but in nature, 'fraid the wee guy had been battered with the ugly stick) Just had to tell someone - I was gobsmacked.

Holiday is now helping my friend move before eviction, then we will go away for a few days - I need the last walk of the year Moggsue

partial plate, make and description? this guy is soooo busted, thats all they need hun, and push them, ring and ask for results, i know the police have better things to do, but get on their case and push for a result on this.
yeah i know it's only a dog (you know what i mean), but next its a kid, or an OAP.

Ooh, this makes me really MAAAAD! As someone who has taken in a dog who had been badly mistreated I'm constantly amazed that he trusted us and loved us from day one, even though some other supposed member of the human race had starved him until he could barely stand, broke his teeth, two ribs and his sternum then burned him with a cigarette (twice). All he asks is a square meal a day, a walk and a warm place to sleep, it isn't rocket science. We got him from the local rescue kennels after he had been seized by the police when they entered the property where he was being kept on some other matter, so I suppose he's lucky to be alive really, but he's so gentle and loving the thought that someone could treat him like that makes my blood boil.
The staff at the rescue centre did say that they find it relatively easy to re-home older dogs though as elderly people feel more able to give them a home as they're much calmer than pups and with a shorter expected lifespan the person is less worried about what would happen to the dog should their own infirmities get the better of them at some point in the future. With any luck your old chap should quickly find someone who deserves his love for the rest of his life. Bless you for helping him.

I think the wee guy will find a home okay - so well natured. He is very ugly, the sort of ugly that makes you go aaahhhhh poor wee guy. He will definately get the sympathy vote. Well behaved. If we had a bigger home we would have kept him - just taken him to the vets for a check up, but it would not have been fair on him. The driver of the BMW had not been battered with the ugly stick but needs to be battered with a brick. I am usually against violence but there are exceptions.

Yup, our rescue is never going to win any beauty contests either. He's a spaniel x whippet; imagine a whippet body with a spaniel head, very short whippet hair over his entire body, except on the tips of his huge ears - which look like they were tacked on as an afterthought - where he has long spaniely hair. I think he's gorgeous though, and if it wasn't for him I would have found it very hard to cope when our Labrador died. Adopting him was definitely one of my better decisions. He does hate cats though and it didn't take long for all the local moggies to realize the fun they could have simply by sitting on our shed roof.

And I know not all BMW drivers are boy racers, just like not all Honda drivers wear trilbys and smoke pipes (MY OH is convinced that they do)

Just told my 5 how lucky they are, we would live in a tent before i would let any of them go !!!!!

My Gemma is probably greyhound x GSD (picture right there on the post). Came from a rescue centre. They'd had her a week, putting on weight all the time, and STILL needed a bit more when I got her. About 18 months old, and didn't know how to run. Previous owners at least had the decency to take her to the rescue centre when they realised they couldn't cope with her. There are times I think we need a proper system of licencing people to keep pets, with exams like the driving test....

I'm glad the little'un is doing OK.
Gemma is special! She is strong willed, but obeys me, except when her greyhound ancestry makes her deaf (and she has grown out of that now that she is about 10). She is VERY smart, understanding me better than you would think possible (at times embarrassingly so, like when I said to her 'bite his bum' when my husband was teasing me during a walk, she did.....)
