The couple that rented our jukeboxes for their wedding recently travelled route 66 as their honeymoon. Will get Madmax to find out about it and PM you with tips.

i don't think it is still one continuous road anymore, just bits, but you can still trace it. invest in a tomtom with US maps

Piskie, Maxxie here - are you aware that 'The Motheroute' is now no longer a state registered route? Most of it is in serious disrepair now. BUT... It is a route to follow alright! Use the following site as a bit of a rough guide:
The Mother Road: Historic Route 66

And DON'T buy a TomTom! They are full of s/w bugs. Buy a Garmin if you want a reliable satnav. I have had to reflash loads of TomToms for Halfords customers.

Enjoy the dream hunn. And what better way than on a Harley or an Indian. I can tell you a very sad story about me and a '47 Indian Chief... I still cry...

bumache shouldn't be too bad - I've had my leg over since I was 17

I reckon we are looking at no change from £5K

Have you been watching Steven Fry travelling across America in a black cab recently, can't remember what channel it was on. Its a good show, you don't realise how big America is really (I've never been there!). He was sat the other night talking to an old bloke in a town that time forgot. He asked the man how far it was to the sea from there, 2000miles in any direction. I can't comprehend being that far from the sea.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
